Alright folks, grabbed my phone this morning thinking gotta find those neon dive sticks for the kids without wrecking the wallet. Seen those bright colors in the big stores, but man, the price tags? Ouch.
First search sucked. Typed in “neon dive sticks cheap” or something like that, and bam – fancy online stores popping up wanting like fifteen bucks for just five sticks! Nah, not happening. Keep scrolling. Fell into this weird hole of fancy pool toys nobody needs.
Finally remembered seeing some cheap stuff before. Jumped in the car, drove down to the giant warehouse place, you know the one with the concrete floors and bins everywhere? Headed straight for the summer section, still kinda messy from the rush. Started digging through these giant plastic tubs full of random pool floats and junk.
And then – score! Found a big ol’ net bag buried under some wrinkly pool noodles. Pulled it out. Jackpot. Neon pink, green, orange, yellow dive sticks, maybe like ten or twelve in there? And the best part? Sticker on the bag said $4.97. Less than five bucks! Almost couldn’t believe it. Grabbed two bags just in case.
Checked the sticks right there in the aisle. Seemed solid enough:
- Bright? Oh yeah, super bright colors.
- Feel Okay? Not super flimsy plastic, decent weight.
- Rough Edges? Nope, smooth. Won’t cut tiny fingers.
- Sinks? Dropped one on the floor like a weirdo – yep, sank straight down.
Also popped into the regular department store across the parking lot. Just for comparison, ya know? Found smaller packs – like 4 sticks – for $3 something each. Almost $1 per stick compared to like 40 cents each in the warehouse bag. No contest. Warehouse deal wins big time.
Got home, dumped one bag in the sink. Gave ’em a quick scrub with soapy water, rinsed ’em good. Got rid of that slight factory smell. Kids saw the bright colors through the window and practically bounced off the walls waiting.
Tossed a handful in the pool. Perfect. Sank fast, stood up nice on the bottom, and those neon colors? Pop like crazy underwater, super easy to spot. Kids went nuts diving for ’em.
Honestly? They’re plastic sticks. Made to sink. As long as they’re not dangerous and the colors stay bright, who cares about fancy names? Found a whole bunch, looks good, works perfect, cost barely anything. Done and done.
